MSSA Women’s Mentoring
Sponsored by  MSSA Committee on Women

The MSSA Committee on Women invite the membership to engage in discussions, with the purpose of the initiative to provide support, mentoring, and resources to female undergraduate, graduate and junior faculty members of the MSSA.

Topics include (but are not limited to):
1. Balancing family and career responsibilities/aspirations
2. Sexual harassment
3. Preparing for the job market
4. Getting tenure and promotion
5. Developing a research agenda
6. Applying to and succeeding in graduate school
7. Teaching support
8. Publishing
9. Collegiality
10. Career options (applying for post-doc positions, grants, etc…)
11. LGBT issues

Mentoring: Questions on any of the above topics will be addressed in one of two ways:
 1. Open discussion forum
 2. Private one-on-one sessions

indicating your question/concern and your preference for a one-on-one session with a mentor or an open discussion with all members of the caucus (including male members).
