You could help to make the AKD Teaching and Learning conference a huge success. If you have visited the MSSA website recently, you know that Tim Gongaware is planning for an outstanding meeting in October. One of the new elements this year is the Alpha Kappa Delta Teaching Conference. It will be held in conjunction with the MSSA meetings and offers a unique opportunity to explore the issues of how learning occurs and what role the instructor plays in the process. Additionally, we will be talking about the assessment of learning. In order to provide “real and relevant” examples, I am looking for 4-6 individuals in the Mid-south region who could do an evidence-based presentation on teaching strategies that work. In other words, what activities do you use that are truly effective with your students?
If you are interested in being a facilitator/presenter, please contact me by August 30. Feel free to email or call for additional information and to express your interest in being a facilitator.
