Membership and Conference Form 2012-2013

Finally, a revised draft of the Annual Conference Program has been released, and is available on the website.

2012 MSSA Preliminary Program Revised

If you take a moment to look through the program, you’ll find there are many very interesting and exciting events planned.   There are 37 scheduled sessions Thursday through Saturday that address a myriad of sociological topics.  Additionally, there is the welcome on Thursday from Mobile Mayor Samuel Jones followed by an exciting presentation by Eduardo Bonilla-Silva from Duke University, a reception Thursday evening, and the banquet on Friday evening where awards will be presented for the Undergraduate and Graduate paper competitions, the Lyman Memorial Scholarship and the Lyman Book Award.  As always, the MSSA Executive Committee will be meeting on Wednesday and on Saturday.  If you have something specific you would like the leadership to address, please contact President Mark Konty, President-Elect Earl Wright or any one of the other Executive Committee members.

I’m certainly looking forward to the conference, and I hope all of you are as well!

BTW – for those who may not have noticed, MSSA has a Facebook Page (www.facebook.com/MidSouthSoc).  As various announcements, kudos and important events come up, we post those there as well.  So, please feel free to head over there and “like” us.

Take care,

Dr. Timothy B. Gongaware
